ESCOGEAR Gear Couplings
F - series
Bore up to 1,130 mm+
Characteristics:
The Escogear coupling is a torsionally rigid grease filled coupling consisting of two hubs with external multicrown - and two flanged sleeves with straight internal teeth. The flanged sleeves are bolted together with high strength corrosion protected fitted bolts and nuts. The sleeve is at the opposite side of the flange executed with an endcap (internal for small and screwed for big size couplings) in which the o-ring is located for sealing purposes. The Escogear coupling has been designed to transmit the torque between these two flanges through friction avoiding fretting corrosion between these faces.
The teeth of hub and sleeve are continuously in contact with each other and have been designed with the necessary backlash to accommodate angular-, parallel- and axial misalignment within their misalignment capacity. The angular and parallel misalignment capacity is determined by the gear tooth design and is for the standard Escogear max. 1.5° degrees (2 x 0.75°) in total. The axial misalignment capacity is limited by the gear teeth length in the sleeve and can be varied (optionally).
Gear couplings are generally made from carbon steel Ck45 (AISI 1040). For higher torque capacities, within the same coupling dimensions, a higher alloy steel like 42CrMo4QT can be used (optionally).
Parallel misalignment can only be accommodated by double engagement type couplings.
The Escogear F series is robust and reliable. It is ideal for meeting the specific requirements of various rotating equipment machines in all kind of industries, with torque up to 5,040,000 Nm.
Advantages:
- High torque capacity & important angular misalignment allowing the coupling to operate under combined load, speed and misalignment conditions
- An easier coupling selection
- High bore capacity
- Light weight
- The highest manufacturing quality & long coupling life guaranteed
- A Multicrown gear shape
- Perfect homokinetic torque transmission
- Reduced backlash
- Perfect gear top centering
- Zinc coated body fitted flange connection bolts avoiding fretting corrosion in the flange bores
- An excellent protection of components
C and C-M - series
Multicrown gearing with continuous sleeve design
Torque up to 348,000 Nm+
Bore up to 290 mm+
Characteristics:
The Escogear C & C...M series couplings are torsionally rigid grease filled couplings consisting of two hubs with external crowned - and one single sleeve with two pairs of straight internal teeth on each sleeve end, a so-called continuous sleeve. Both sleeve ends are sealed. These are the most compact gear coupling designs.
The axial misalignment capacity is limited by the gear teeth length in the sleeve and can be varied (optionally - for C...M series only).
Gear couplings are generally made from carbon steel Ck45 (AISI 1040). For higher torque capacities, within the same coupling dimensions, a higher alloy steel as 42CrMo4QT can be used (optionally).
The Escogear C & C...M series are substantially lighter in weight than the Escogear F-series. These compact designs make the Escogear C & C...M series ideal for use in applications where space is limited and weight is important. Two versions are available. The CST for bores up to 110 mm and the CST...M configuration for larger bores.
Advantages:
- High torque capacity & significant angular misalignment allowing the coupling to operate under combined load, speed and misalignment conditions
- Easy coupling selection
- High bore capacity
- Light weight
- A high manufacturing quality
- Long guaranteed coupling life
- Multicrown tooth form
- Perfect homokinetic torque transmission
- Less backlash compared with conventional or circular tooth forms
- Perfect gear top centering
- Excellent corrosion protection of components
N - series
Continuous geared sleeve with steel covers, basic design
Torque up to 2000 Nm
Bore up to 85 mm
Characteristics:
Gear couplings are lubricated type couplings with the highest torque capacity. The Escogear N series couplings basically consist of two hubs with external teeth connected by means of one single internally geared sleeve and sealed by two flanges.
This is a limited series as a light version of the Escogear F series couplings accommodating angular and axial misalignments. Where the angular misalignment is determined by the gearing geometry, the axial capacity varies according to the manufacturer and can be great.
The Escogear N series couplings are generally made out of carbon steel Ck45 and the flanges of stamped steel.
The Escogear N series offers a one-piece steel sleeve with internal straight teeth and special encapsulated seals, keeping the coupling perfectly tight even at maximum misalignment.
Advantages:
- Max. bores defined by standardized shaft diameters
- Reduced external dimensions and weight
- Easy installation & minimum maintenance requirements
- Absolute reliability
- Perfect homokinetic torque transmission
