In addition to newly available lengths that increase application potential, this development reflects a new manufacturing approach for this entire high-torque belt range featuring truly unique properties. Previously produced exclusively to order, they are now part of regular series production – making them available without minimum order requirements or other limitations.

Available Profiles and Lengths – This Is What It’s All About
The update of the manufacturing program applies exclusively to metric profiles with 8 mm and 14 mm pitches: DHTD D8M, DHTD D14M, and DSTD DS8M. Belts in these profiles are now available across all performance classes.
Belts in the inch-based DH profile remain available only in the standard version, and their length range remains unchanged. No new sizes are available for the DHTD D5M profile either, which continues to be manufactured only in the standard and CXP versions.

Basic – Yet Precisely Synchronized Power Transmission
Whenever a machine design requires synchronized power transmission with reversing rotation, a double-sided timing belt is likely to be part of the drive system. Whether in printing machines or lawn mowers and garden equipment, such applications involve high tensile loads and may also be exposed to shocks or sudden stops.
For applications in the low to medium power range, the standard CONTI SYNCHROTWIN series is often fully sufficient. The belts are made of high-quality chloroprene rubber (CR), reinforced with glass-fiber tensile cords, and feature polyamide fabric-covered teeth. Unlike low-cost and inferior alternatives, CONTI SYNCHROTWIN belts deliver full power transmission on both sides even in the standard series – they do not have a “stronger” and “weaker” side.

CXP & CXA for Demanding Applications
In industrial applications, belt length and longitudinal stability are often limiting factors. Until recently, this also applied to ContiTech belts, which were available only up to approximately 2.5 m.
The newly extended belt length range – for DHTD D14M up to nearly 6 m – completely changes this situation and enables the use of CONTI SYNCHROTWIN belts even in the most demanding high-performance and compact designs. All sizes are now available in all three performance versions – from the standard series through the reinforced CXP to the highest-strength CXA with aramid tensile cords.

Superior Length Stability: CXA as a Game Changer
Thanks to the reinforced chloroprene rubber (CR) and extremely strong aramid tensile cords, CONTI SYNCHROTWIN CXA belts are able to maintain optimal length consistency even at high torque loads and low speeds.
In the segment of double-sided timing belts, the strength characteristics of the CXA series are truly exceptional and unique on the market. Combined with the newly available belt lengths, this represents a genuinely groundbreaking development, as illustrated by the following diagram.

EPDM Is Coming. Together with CONTINUITY
As is already the case with single-sided belts, the manufacturer is planning a transition to a new generation within the double-sided timing belt program.
According to current information, production of CONTI SYNCHROTWIN belts made of advanced synthetic EPDM rubber, which will replace the current chloroprene rubber (CR), is scheduled for next year. This will provide improved temperature resistance and significantly extend service life.
This change will also be reflected in updated belt markings and printing. In line with the CONTINUITY project, aimed at the global harmonization of the Continental ContiTech belt portfolio, the CXP series will be renamed ADVANCE, while the CXA series will carry the designation ADVANCE PRO.
