ContiTech Is Changing Owners. What Does It Mean for Our Customers?
Continental has announced the sale of the entire ContiTech group to Lone Star Funds, an American investment company.
This is a change in ownership – with no impact on manufacturing or business operations, for both direct ContiTech partners and TYMA CZ customers.
Cooperation with ContiTech therefore remains fully reliable and uninterrupted. Existing contractual relationships, deliveries, technical support, and ongoing day-to-day business cooperation all continue without any changes.
So What Exactly Happened?
At the beginning of July 2026, Continental AG announced that it had signed an agreement to sell the entire ContiTech group to Lone Star Funds.
While for Continental this move simplifies its corporate structure and sharpens its focus on tire manufacturing, for ContiTech it opens the opportunity to fully focus on the key growth areas of its portfolio. For ContiTech, too, this is the logical conclusion of a process that has been underway for more than a year.
Since April 2025, ContiTech has been preparing to operate as an independent business – and in February this year, it also sold its own Original Equipment Solutions division. Today, it is a purely industrial player, with around 80% of its revenue coming from industrial customers.
Who Will Own ContiTech? What Happens Next?
The buyer is Lone Star Funds, an American investment firm with a long track record of developing industrial businesses.
The transaction is now subject to antitrust approval, with completion expected by the end of 2026. Information about the future corporate identity will be announced at a later date.
As a long-standing partner of ContiTech, we will continue to monitor further developments and keep you informed of any important news.
