Food and Beverage Hoses
Industrial food and beverage hoses are designed for suction and discharge of beverages and food liquids, as well as for direct contact with food products in food processing facilities; others are intended for sanitation and pressure washing of food processing lines and equipment. In all cases, these are applications subject to strict hygiene requirements for materials and product safety.
Food and beverage hoses are manufactured from thermoplastic materials, most commonly PVC-based – including phthalate-free (PHF) versions and versions with FDA certification – with steel or PVC spiral and textile reinforcement. Sanitation hoses are made from rubber compounds with a cover resistant to hot water and animal fats, also available with Microban antimicrobial additive. Key selection parameters include the type of medium, required certification, working pressure, and temperature range.

Typical Applications
Food and beverage hoses are used in production facilities where they come into direct contact with food or beverages. Other hoses in this category are designed for sanitation of food processing lines and equipment.
In dairy, brewing, and beverage production, they are used for transferring milk, whey, beer, and other beverages between tanks, processing lines, and filling equipment. In winemaking and distilling, phthalate-free hoses are used that do not affect the taste or aroma of the product. In meat and fish processing, they are used for pumping marinades, brines, and other food liquids.
For pressure washing and sanitation of food processing facilities – dairies, slaughterhouses, breweries, and canneries – specialized hoses with antimicrobial cover are available, resistant to hot water, oils, and animal fats.
