Oil and Fuel Hoses
Industrial hoses for oils and fuels are designed for the safe transfer of petroleum products – from lubricating and hydraulic oils through fuels to heating oils – in industrial and agricultural applications as well as in marine environments. The range includes hoses for pumping and dispensing oils and fuels, along with specialized hoses for applications with higher demands on safety and operational reliability.
Oil and fuel hoses are manufactured from rubber or thermoplastic compounds with an inner layer resistant to petroleum products, and with spiral or braided reinforcement providing mechanical strength. Key selection parameters include the type of medium being conveyed, working pressure, inner diameter, temperature range, and antistatic requirements – these determine the hose’s suitability for a given application and operational safety.
The Complete Continental Industrial Hose Range
The Continental industrial hose portfolio comprises three independent product lines. Two of them focus primarily on rubber hoses and are geographically referred to as EMEA and AMERICAS. The third pillar is the thermoplastic hose range, formerly known under the Merlett brand.
The full current range, including detailed product descriptions and individual data sheets, is available through the online hose finders:
- Continental Industrial Hoses (EMEA)
- Continental Industrial Hoses (AMERICAS)
- Continental Thermoplastic Hoses (formerly Merlett)
We supply products from all three product lines listed above.

Typical Applications
Oil and fuel hoses are designed for the safe transfer of petroleum products – from machine and hydraulic oils to fuels and heating oils – in industrial, agricultural, and marine applications.
They are used for pumping lubricating and hydraulic oils during fluid changes, filling aggregates, and supplying lubrication circuits in industrial maintenance and mechanical engineering. In agriculture and construction, they are used for mobile diesel dispensing from tank trucks or barrel pumps directly into tractors, construction machinery, and generators. For heating oil delivery and dispensing, hoses with low-temperature resistance and antistatic properties are used – for example, when filling storage tanks in residential or industrial boiler rooms. On vessels and in marine transport, hoses complying with applicable standards are used for fueling vessel tanks and handling fuels during engine room service operations.
