What is the marking on V-belts?

1. Featured on classic V-belts are markings, i.e. profile and number, which stands for the inner length, given in inches. This is followed by a number representing millimetres, Li, which stands for the inner length.
2. Marked on narrow belts are the profile and length in millimetres, Lw, which stands for the working length.
3. Featured on V-belts for automobiles are the profile and length, La, which stands for the outer length.

How can I replace individual types of V-belts?

The most accurate replacement of individual belts is achieved by recalculating Lw or Ld. Individual belts, which indicate a different length, are recalculated via the effective length, Le, and in this way a suitable replacement is found in another type of belt.
