ContiTech V-Belt Naming Changes

2023-12-11

The new belt names, updated according to the CONTINUITY project, already appear in our Eshop.

CONTI V CONTINUITY

ContiTech has decided to globally standardise the naming of its industrial belts. The whole action is covered by the Continental CONTINUITY project.

Related changes are already appearing in our Eshop, where we are gradually adjusting the names of the relevant categories according to the actual marking of the belts stocked from the factory.

Current Changes in TYMA CZ Eshop

The latest changes concern V-belts.

  • The classic and narrow belts wrapped according to DIN 2215, DIN 7753 or the US RMA/MPTA standard are changing their marking quite subtly from CONTI-V to CONTI V. In a reinforced version with the ADVANCE attribute.
  • V-belts with internal teeth cut according to DIN 2215 have changed their designation from the European CONTI-V FO or the American TORQUE-FLEX to CONTI VX.
  • The high-end CONTI-V FO PIONEER narrow V-belts with internal teeth will now be known as CONTI VX ADVANCE (however, this modification is not expected to take place until the first quarter of next year, according to the manufacturer).
  • The CONTI-V VARISPEED belts will carry the CONTI VX VARISPEED ADVANCE designation.

In addition to the names, all belts produced in the future will also have an updated graphic design.

Practical Dimension Addition to the Belt Name in the Eshop

CONTI V and CONTI VX V-Belts – Classic, Narrow and with Internal Teeth

We have modified the product names in the TYMA CZ Eshop for all classic V-belts wrapped according to DIN 2215 to include both the value of the internal length Li and the nominal length Ld.

As a result, it is now easy to convert belts of different designs and replace them with each other, for example, in a situation where the existing belts do not have the required service life, they are frequently breaking and you are looking for a better quality replacement.

Belt Naming Example

Using the nominal length of 1150 Ld (or 1148 Ld), you can easily find an equivalent or better quality replacement for the 13 mm wide belts used in combination with the SPA catalogue pulleys. Previously, only the inner length Li was mentioned in the belt name.
