Chain Description
20B-1 KettenWulf TGI (Reinforced, Corrosion-Resistant, 1 1/4” × 3/4”, DIN 8187) - 5 m Pack (+ 2 Connecting Links) is a special type of simplex drive chain. It is standardized according to ISO 606 (DIN 8187), meaning it is a chain of the European B‑series.
The chain consists of outer links with pins and inner links with enhanced bushes, on which freely rotating rollers are mounted. The chain is made of steel with a special surface treatment providing enhanced corrosion resistance.
Thanks to its design and the materials used, it offers significantly higher fatigue strength than standard series chains.
KettenWulf TGI
With their Tri Guard Inchromised protective coating, KettenWulf TGI chains represent the top tier in corrosion, wear, and fatigue resistance. They are designed for the most demanding and aggressive conditions.
Reinforced KettenWulf TGI chains combine the robust mechanical design of the KettenWulf HFS series with an advanced Geomet® coating, resisting over 500 hours in salt spray tests. The result is KettenWulf’s most corrosion-resistant chain, perfect even for demanding, lubrication-free operations.
The materials and manufacturing processes are identical to the HFS series, delivering equally high fatigue strength. Pins are additionally chromised to achieve an exceptionally hard, smooth surface (hardness > 800 HV). All components are then treated with a special Geomet® protective coating to ensure outstanding corrosion resistance.
Chains are pre-lubricated using a high-quality lubricant applied in a hot bath.
Chain Construction
- Inner link – high-precision, wide-waisted profile with a special corrosion-resistant coating
- Outer link – high-precision, wide-waisted profile with a special corrosion-resistant coating
- Pin made of special alloy steel with an additional layer of chrome plating (case-hardened or through-hardened, depending on the type)
- Seamless special steel bush, optimally cylindrical, with high wear resistance and a corrosion-resistant coating
- Through-hardened seamless roller with a corrosion-resistant coating
Chain Fields of Use
20B-1 reinforced and corrosion-resistant roller chains according to DIN 8187 are intended for applications with higher mechanical load in environments with an increased risk of corrosion, such as humid areas, outdoor operations, or applications where standard roller chains do not meet the requirements for strength and sufficient corrosion resistance.
Typical fields of application include agriculture, the construction industry, the chemical industry, or wastewater treatment plants.
They are most commonly used as drive chains in demanding operating conditions but can also be fitted with attachments or other auxiliary components for material handling and lifting applications.
Chain Material
Steel with a special surface treatment.
