20A / ASA 100 Reinforced Roller Chains According to DIN 8188
20A / ASA 100 reinforced roller chains (1 1/4″ × 3/4″), also known as high-strength chains, are a specialized type of drive chains. Like standard roller chains, they are manufactured according to ISO 606 (DIN 8188, ANSI B29.1), meaning they belong to the American A-series.
The chains consist of outer links with pins and inner links with enhanced bushes, on which freely rotating rollers are mounted. The chains are made of steel. Thanks to their design and the materials used, they offer significantly higher fatigue strength than standard roller chains. They also provide excellent wear resistance, ensuring a long service life.
The standard design of 20A / ASA 100 reinforced chains includes simplex, duplex, and triplex variants.
20A-1 / ASA 100-1 (Simplex)
20A-2 / ASA 100-2 (Duplex)
20A-3 / ASA 100-3 (Triplex)
Chains Construction
- Inner link – high-precision, wide-waisted profile
- Outer link – high-precision, wide-waisted profile
- Special alloy steel pin (case-hardened or through-hardened according to type)
- Seamless special steel bush with optimally cylindrical shape and high wear resistance
- Through-hardened seamless roller
Chains Fields of Use
20A / ASA 100 reinforced roller chains according to DIN 8188 are designed for applications with higher mechanical loads, where standard roller chains might not meet requirements for strength and fatigue resistance.
They are most commonly used as drive chains in demanding operating conditions but can also be fitted with attachments or other auxiliary components for material handling and lifting applications.
