Roller and Bush Chains According to DIN 8188 ASA/ANSI (A-Series)
A-series roller and bush chains are among the most common types of drive chains. They are standardized according to ISO 606 (DIN 8188, ANSI B29.1), meaning they belong to the American A-series.
The chains consist of outer links with pins and inner links with bushes, with freely rotating rollers mounted on the bushes in roller chains. The chains are made of steel. The exact grade of steel, production method and heat treatment of the steel of the individual parts vary by chain type, size and manufacturer.
The standard design of A-series chains includes simplex, duplex or triplex designs.
