40B-3 Roller Chains According to DIN 8187
40B-3 roller chains (2 1/2″ × 1 1/2″) are among the most common triplex drive chains. They are standardized according to ISO 606 (DIN 8187), meaning they belong to the European B-series.
The chains consist of outer links with pins and inner links with bushes, on which freely rotating rollers are mounted. The chains are made of steel. The exact grade of steel, production method and heat treatment of the steel of the individual parts vary by chain type, size and manufacturer.

After more than 15 years of offering standard roller chains from the German brand KÖBO, we have decided to discontinue their availability as of April 2025. Remaining stock will be sold off, and no further orders will be possible. These chains are being replaced by products from another German manufacturer – KettenWulf.
Why the change? In recent years, KÖBO has focused on heavy-duty conveyor chains for specialised applications and no longer offers a sufficient range or delivery flexibility in the field of standard roller chains.
