Spindle Bearings
Spindle bearings are special high-precision, high-speed, rolling ball and roller bearings for spindle mounting. The spindle is usually statically mounted in two radial and one axial bearing. The front bearing is usually axially immovable, the rear one is allowed axial movement due to the thermal expansion of the spindle.
Three types of bearings are used – ball bearings with angular contact, double-row roller bearings or axial bidirectional ball bearings with angular contact.

Single-row angular contact ball bearings have been developed for high-speed machine tool spindles. They differ from normal angular contact ball bearings by their contact angle, degree of accuracy and cage design. |

Double-Row Roller Bearings |
Thanks to two rows of rollers, double-row roller bearings have very high rigidity and load capacity, which is why they are used for the transmission of large radial loads and medium-high speeds. They are usually used for rear spindle bearings, for lathe spindles that have high demands on rigidity. |

Axial Double Direction Bearings with Angular Contact |
Axial double direction ball bearings have a contact angle of 60° and are axially preloaded. Therefore, they have high axial load capacity and rigidity. They are mainly used for front spindle mounting. |
